MAGIC VALLEY GROUND WATER DISTRICT
Discharge measurements on 1/3 of the systems proceeded without problems in Magic Valley GWD. The start was a little slow due to the temperature and the rain in May. No complaining about the precipitation is allowed.
Many irrigators received letters from the IDWR requiring in-line flow meters. Many meters have been installed. Calibrations were conducted on most of the new meters. WWC will be reading all the meters in November after the irrigation season.
Work is continuing on the proposed Lake Walcott injection well. The permit is currently being reviewed by IDWR. Progress was slowed due to budgetary restraints caused by the purchase of the Pristine Springs for mitigation.
Monthly water level measurements are continuing. Unfortunately the slope of the hydrographs throughout the district is still downward; however, the slope has leveled off somewhat.
